When an animtion seems to be a task anybody can easily perform, it’s a good indication. As always, it can be improved, but I’m rather happy with this movement.

Cloth animation Animating several clothes is a different ball game. One cannot re-loop the first movement as the main challange is to claculate the potential interractions between the cloths objects. It’s like the difference between managing one employee and 40 employees.

Fire & Smoke should be impressive and reliable. The desire for grandiosity needs to be balanced with the considerable rendering time it takes to provide reliability.

In animation like in reality, clothes are important, yet, never the top priority, rather the small detail that kills. Balance the right look and the physical coherence turns cloth animation into time consuming task.

Creating an animating ballon isn’t a hard task, it just requires a good understanding of many animation skills – creating the right elasticity; a texture that is opac on the edges and slightly tranparent in its center; a material that refracts and reflects light… in short, create the illusion it’s real.
